Anne has been a councillor for Sutton For Oaks Ward for 29 years. She has served the community not just as a councillor but as a govenor of Wilson Stuart School and Sports College and Chairman of North Birmingham Primary Care Trust.

Anne is currently Chairman of the Council's Sutton Coldfield Constituency, ensuring council money is spent in Sutton Coldfield where it needs to be. In her spare time she is a keen golfer and captains the Boldmere Ladies' Golf Club.
