5G mast proposal located on the green adjacent to Heath Croft Road and Little Sutton Lane

Many of you will remember the 5G mast proposal located on the green adjacent to Heath Croft Road and Little Sutton Lane that Hutchison 3G UK Ltd submitted in 2020. Along with residents, we persuaded Birmingham City Council's Planning department to turn down this inappropriately located proposal.

On Friday (25th June), many of you may have seen contractors digging a trench in the exact location, and the attached paperwork seems to confirm this is to install a 5G mast in the same spot. (“Statutory Undertakers” have rights to carry out works of this type on the public highway and do not need to notify the council.)  Whether this is connected with the original application or is another company about to commence a new application is not clear at this stage.

We would like to consult residents again on this matter. With this in mind, could you please complete the attached survey, including your name and address and we will submit the survey to Birmingham City Council, ensuring your views are taken into account.

Best wishes,

Cllr Ewan Mackey and Cllr Meirion Jenkins
