Dear Resident,
We are writing to update you on the planning application (2026/02496/PA) that has been submitted to convert 1 Coppice View Road from dwelling house (Use Class C3) to children's home (Use Class C2).
We are concerned about this application. The local area already has a significant number of HMOs and Exempt Accommodation and so this application should be rejected to ensure the character of the neighbourhood is not damaged further. We believe a care home on a quiet residential street would bring activity levels that do not align with the area’s residential character.
Coppice View Road already carries heavy traffic for a cul-de-sac, with two primary schools generating significant vehicle movements, parking pressure, and congestion at peak times. In addition, an existing children’s home on the same road contributes further to the limited parking on this quiet road. Permitting another would place additional strain on an area that is already under considerable pressure.
You can submit an individual objection via www.birmingham.gov.uk/planningonline by searching for the planning application 2026/02496/PA and entering your comment under the ‘submit comments here’ section. Alternatively you can email the case officer for this application directly, Abigail Honnor: [email protected]
In addition, we invite you to sign the petition below, which we will present at Full Council on Tuesday 14th July. We hope you find this helpful. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the above further, please get in touch using the contact details below.
Yours sincerely,
