Campaign Opposing Planning Application 26/0560 — Land at Queslett Road East between Aldridge Road and Doe Bank Lane, Walsall

Dear Resident,

We are writing to update you on the planning application (26/0560) that has been submitted for a “residential-led development (Use Class C3) for up to 850 dwellings, primary school (Use Class F1(a)), local community centres (Use Classes E(a-f) and F2)  and associated works, infrastructure, public open space and landscape enhancements”. The planning application relates to land on Queslett Road East, situated between Aldridge Road and Doe Bank Lane, just across the border in Walsall.

As neighbouring ward councillors, we are concerned about this application  and have objected to this planning application on the following grounds:

1. Loss of Open Space and Green Character

2. Pressure on Local Services

3. Traffic and Highway Capacity

4. Cumulative Development

We do not believe the proposed development is appropriate in either its scale or its impact, and are concerned it would fundamentally alter the character of the area, while placing unacceptable pressure on stretched infrastructure. We have requested that these concerns are given full consideration and that planning permission is refused. Our MP Andrew Mitchell has also registered his formal objection.
