Dear Resident,
We are writing to update you on the planning application (2026/01703/PA) that has been submitted to convert 229 Chester Road from a single-family dwelling into a care home for children and young people (Use Class C2).
We are concerned about this application. The local area already has a significant number of HMOs and Exempt Accommodation and so this application should be rejected to ensure the character of the neighbourhood is not damaged further. We believe a care home would bring activity levels that do not align with the area’s residential character.
You can submit an individual objection via www.birmingham.gov.uk/planningonline by searching for the planning application 2026/01703/PA and entering your comment under the ‘submit comments here’ section. Alternatively you can email the case officer for this application directly, Callum Jones: [email protected]
In addition, we invite you to sign the petition below, which we will present at Full Council soon. We hope you find this helpful. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the above further, please get in touch using the contact details below.
Yours sincerely,
Cllr Anja Pawson Cllr John Cooper
