Dear Resident,
We are writing to update you on the planning application (2026/01509/PA) that has been submitted to convert 52 Elizabeth Road from a single-family dwelling into residential care home (Use Class C2) for up to 3 young people.
We are concerned about this application. The local area already has a significant number of HMOs and Exempt Accommodation and so this application should be rejected to ensure the character of the neighbourhood is not damaged further. We believe a care home on a quiet residential street would bring activity levels that do not align with the area’s residential character.
You can submit an individual objection via www.birmingham.gov.uk/planningonline by searching for the planning application 2026/01509/PA and entering your comment under the ‘submit comments here’ section. Alternatively you can email the case officer for this application directly, Daniel Ilott: [email protected] (Council are asking for comments by 11/06/2026)
In addition, a petition has been set up by local residents which we will present at Full Council soon, which you can see and have the option to sign here: https://c.org/fGnWg4Dp87 or you can sign our version below.
We hope you find this helpful. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the above further, please get in touch using the contact details below.
Yours sincerely,
Cllr Anja Pawson Cllr John Cooper
