Petition Opposing a Change of Use Planning Application for 56 George Road

Dear Resident,

We are writing to update you on the planning application (2026/00170/PA) that has been submitted to convert 56 George Road from a single-family dwelling into a children care home (Use Class C2) for up to 3 children.

We are concerned about this application. The local area already has a significant number of HMOs and Exempt Accommodation and so this application should be rejected to ensure the character of the neighbourhood is not damaged further. We believe a care home on a quiet residential street would bring activity levels that do not align with the area’s residential character.

You can submit an individual objection via www.birmingham.gov.uk/planningonline by searching for the planning application 2026/00170/PA and entering your comment under the ‘submit comments here’ section. Alternatively you can email the case officer for this application directly, Callum Jones: [email protected]

In addition, we invite you to sign the petition below, which we will present at Full Council soon. We hope you find this helpful. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the above further, please get in touch using the contact details below.

Yours sincerely,

Anja Pawson & John Cooper
