Petition for Urgent Traffic Calming Measures on Boldmere Road

As you may know, Boldmere Road is a busy high street with two primary schools and a
private nursery nearby. It is a vital route for families, children, and local businesses.

It has been a source of frequent near misses and dangerous crossings, and now there has been a recent accident on Boldmere Road, sadly involving a child which led to a broken bone.

Due to this incident, and to improve the overall walkability to local schools, shops and restaurants, local campaigners John Cooper and Anja Pawson are calling on Birmingham City Council to implement urgent traffic calming measures on Boldmere Road, including either or both of the following options:

1. Introducing a 20mph zone from Cofield Road to Jockey Road
2. Raised beds for existing zebra crossings to improve visibility and encourage
drivers to slow down

These changes would help protect our children, support active travel, and would make Boldmere Road a safer, more welcoming place for both pedestrians and motorists.

If you agree, please fill out the petition below.
